Day #7 (August 7, 2022): We worshiped with the friendly Southpoint Church of Christ and afterward crossed the state line to Kansas to eat more Kansas City BBQ at Q39—hands down, our family’s favorite KC BBQ! It was a much better experience all the way around. It was more comfortable, and it had faster service, cleaner atmosphere, and better food! We ordered a similar spread as the previous day at Arthur Bryant’s so we could compare apples to apples: brisket, burnt ends, smoked chicken (turkey n/a), pulled pork, ribs, sausage, baked beans, cole slaw, and French fries. Our overall family favorites from Q39: brisket, burnt ends, pulled pork, sausage, ribs and French fries. All were clear winners over Arthur Bryant’s. Although small, the girls enjoyed the campground’s playground, creating obstacle courses on it and racing to see who could finish the fastest! That night, we watched an old Jesse James movie and tried to catch our breath from a very busy first week of full-time, on-the-road RV life!
