Day #2 (August 2, 2022): While in St. Louis, we visited the City Museum, a definite must-stop for any family with kids. It is filled with slides, caves, playgrounds, half-pipes, among other things that we don’t know the names of. It even has a small Shoelace Factory inside so visitors can see how shoelaces are made with antique machines. Joanna loved picking out a souvenir-bracelet from this shop to add to her collection that she wears on her left wrist. We enjoyed lunch at Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives-recommended Anthonino’s Taverna, which is known for its unique blend of Italian and Greek dishes. Their Toasted Ravioli, Baked Goat Cheese, Lasagna, and Gyro were all delicious. Bethany says Anthonino’s kids’ menu mac ‘n’ cheese is the best she’s ever had. It’s her favorite to date. We had tickets to a Cardinals’ game that evening, but we were unfortunately part of a 3-car wreck as we merged onto the interstate just 3 minutes from our campground. Thankfully, no one was injured, and it wasn’t our fault. However, our truck’s alignment was so bad afterward, that we headed back to the campground to figure out car insurance and repair shop details.
